Allie Conti is a writer and licensed private investigator based in New York. After graduating from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, she spent two years at the Miami New Times. She also worked at Vice for five years—as a staff writer, and later, as the senior staff writer.

Her writing now regularly appears in publications like the New York Times, New York Magazine, the Atlantic, Field & Stream, and Bloomberg Businessweek. She’s also been a guest on NPR, WNYC, WBUR, and NBC Nightly News. In addition, she’s taught narrative writing at the University of Florida.

The investigative series that she wrote, hosted, and produced is called VIGILANTE. It charted as a top-10 show on Apple Podcasts, was named one of the best shows of the year by places like Vulture and the Boston Globe, and is currently being adapted into a scripted TV drama. Her day job is over at Vox Media, where she works as a senior travel editor focusing on features and guides.
